Oakview Washington, D.C. Trip 2022

We spent the afternoon at Arlington National Cemetery. The highlight was the changing of the guard and the wreath our school laid.

Every group has a chance to choose what they wanted for lunch. I think everyone chose food trucks. They and their chaperones had the opportunity to go to any of the Smithsonian museums of their choice.

Well……for many years we had been coming to the Fish Market for fresh seafood. In the last three years, many other options have been added to the Wharf area. Today we discovered the three places were completely gone🤦‍♂️ Before After The good news is that this beautiful area has many great options that aren’t seafood related.

Besides the souvenir store, our main focus this morning was Ford’s Theater where President Lincoln was assassinated. 

We had a great dinner/dancing cruise on Baltimore Harbor. It was great seeing kids and adults dancing again! Sorry a couple are cut off😳

We had a great (but very brisk) tour of the memorials Saturday night. We started with the Vietnam Wall, moved to the Lincoln Memorial and Korean War Memorial, onto the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and finished with the Jefferson Memorial.

I have no photos from the hotel rooms but judging from the line at the front desk to purchase microwaveable meals, I can assure you hunger isn’t an issue. The guy gave me 2 free waters because of all of the business I gave him😜 This morning, we finally made it to the zoo. While we were only there for an hour, we saw a lot.
